Residence Hall 7 will be the first building on the Colorado School of Mines campus south of 19th Street, and will establish the character of the new South Campus precinct while bringing 24/7 activation to this new neighborhood. The building is proposed to be a multi-story student residence with common space and community amenities and will provide these beds for sophomores in four-person, two and four-bedroom suites, each with small kitchens and lounge space within the unit.
Rooted in Mines’ vision of shaping a vibrant community of sophomore students, Residence Hall 7 is a unique opportunity for the University to create a building which is tailored to the specific needs of second-year students, including the critical issues of establishing independence while continuing to cultivate a sense of belonging.
Amenities will include a community study/lounge, community kitchens, a series of fitness and recreation spaces, a small café offering cash and meal plan options, a mailroom, common laundry spaces and other support spaces. The site program will include landscape development of a central courtyard space that will capitalize on the incredible views of South Table Mountain and the surround foothills of the Front Range.
