In Memory of Erin Hillhouse

We are sad to share the news of the recent passing of Erin Hillhouse, an accomplished architect and trusted colleague at Anderson Mason Dale Architects. In his 17 years at the firm, Erin collaborated on projects across AMD's portfolio. His career was focused on the master planning and design of higher education facilities. Erin was passionate about creating community and celebrating the human experience at every building scale.

Erin cared deeply for those he worked with — peers, clients, and consultants alike. Erin's colleagues speak of his dedication, gentle leadership, genuine laugh, and, most of all, his humility. One colleague described it perfectly: "Erin managed to balance all the requirements we must mind as architects while keeping his eye on the prize — creating wonderful spaces for students, citizens, whomever. His attention to craft and detail all worked towards that end, making a beautiful product."

Erin's presence will be most sincerely missed as a trusted listener and mentor in our studio. He will be remembered as a generous collaborator and unwavering champion of the next generation of architects. We carry his sincerity, dedication, and humility with us moving forward.

A celebration of life will be held in late Spring 2024.
