The Hotel and Transit Center at Denver International Airport (DEN) creates an on-site 519-room hotel and Public Transit Center that accommodates the A Line commuter rail; a rail line connecting DEN with downtown Denver’s Union Station. One of the busiest airports in the country, the addition of the hotel and transit center, linked to the original, tent-roofed Great Hall of the Jeppesen Terminal, establishes the airport not only as a transit hub, but as a stand-alone destination for leisure, conferencing, nightlife, and fine dining.
Dramatic glazed grid-shell canopies accent the design and shelter plaza visitors and train passengers. Within the podium, passengers can check bags as they get off the train. The transit center podium includes a bus center, ballroom, and meeting room spaces to support hotel conference activities and events. Flanked by new restaurant spaces, the public plaza offers year-round community programming and events, with major new public art installations are integrated throughout the project.
The Hotel and Transit Center, a culmination of sophisticated design, coordination, engineering, and construction practices, reinvents the way the airport connects to the city while improving passengers’ travel experience.
