Colorado Northwestern Community College Craig Campus

The 100-acre campus for Colorado Northwestern Community College Campus in Craig, Colorado sits on a high plateau along the Western slope of the Rockies. AMD developed a master plan for the campus, identifying the best use of the site’s topography while defining opportunities to engage community institutions. The design of the site and three buildings, a Career Technical Center, Automotive Technology Center, and Academic/Library/Student Services Building support the institution’s mission to be an accessible, visible asset to the region.

The Career Technical Center provides classrooms, faculty offices, lounge spaces and a learn/work retail environment for Cosmetology and Massage Therapy. High bay spaces are provided for Mine Training, Industrial Electrician and Power Plant programs. The Automotive Technology Center is a high-bay, clear-span structure that provides flexibility for the Auto Tech program’s inventory of lifts, alignment racks and kits to be arranged to support various instructional activities.

The Academic/Library/Student Services Building is a multipurpose facility with academic classrooms and labs, faculty offices, student services and library. The flagship building anchors the campus while creating a foundational context for future development, defining an architectural vocabulary for the emerging Colorado Northwestern Community College’s Craig campus while providing students and faculty with spaces to learn, gather, and work.
